The other night I was at my friend’s apartment (See his blog here). He came and his friend ( came from their own respective co-ops in D.C. and somewhere in Texas last month and wanted to have me over at their apartment for dinner. Given the fact that I had been cooking something or the other from two days previously made me accept this invitation in a heartbeat.
Here’ a thing - If you cook food so many times a week like I do, you probably wouldn’t eat the food that you make. And no matter what you make, say Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Italian, or regular sturdy American, it just doesn’t go away. It happens to the best of us!
So I went to this friend’s house ( BFF btw) and it was nothing less than awkward social meeting. He and his friend (whom I am happy saying that I know as a fact that they are friends for sure) made me Chicken Biryani for me. It was good per say but wasn’t that well made. Generally I am very warm person ( and I know this post doesn’t remotely say that. That happens when you are in a hangover after a crazy party and you wake up next day at 3 pm in the afternoon with your head hurting you like crazy and you are nuts to not being able to find a tylenol)
I am writing to just tell that the food that made was good but not made well. You know the difference between “feeling good” and “looking good”, that’s what I am talking about.
All they did was chop and dice the chicken and marinate it. Next added a regular artificial curry powder and let it steep in this curry. At the same time you keep some ratio of white rice to be cooked in the rice cooker (which btw was borrowed by me – ha ha BFF). Now when you’re ready with both the things, just mixed them and you’re all set to have dinner.
